Developer to unveil its newest model in Winfield

The Daily Herald – Homes Saturday – October 22, 2011

Airhart Construction is preparing to unveil a new fully furnished Farmington model on Saturday, October 22 at Fisher Farm, its low-maintenance community of 71 semi-custom single-family homes in Winfield.

The debut of the new model—featuring Airhart Construction’s most in-demand floorplan—is good news for buyers who desire a customizable design, open layout, and plentiful standard amenities, said Christy Whelan, director of sales for Airhart Construction.

“Even more exciting news is,” Whelan added, “is that discounts are currently being offered on a variety of select Fisher Farm homesites—many of which offer cul-de-sac locations, views of the 18-hole public golf course, or back up to a two-acre pond and open space areas. In addition to the lot discount, our Model Grand Opening special includes 50% off all selection upgrades and runs through Thanksgiving.”

“The Farmington, which is available at all of our single-family home communities, is the most popular home style we offer, so it made sense to showcase this adaptable home as a decorated and furnished model,” Whelan said. “Visitors who tour this model are going to find a lot to love about the flow and flexibility of this design.”

As modeled, The Farmington features three bedrooms and two baths on the main level. Among the home’s highlights are a great room with volume ceiling and a fireplace, formal dining room, and spacious kitchen—three adjacent spaces that flow into one another. A brick front elevation, 2 x 6 walls, full basement, nine-foot first-floor ceilings, brick paver patio, two-car attached garage, deluxe landscaping package, and Hardiplank siding complete the home.

The model is furnished using warm colors and traditional décor and furnishings to sport a classic look. Adding to the model’s charm is its picturesque location, overlooking the adjacent Klein Creek Golf Course.

Heather Mistele, sales manager for Airhart Construction, noted that the model home is shown with the optional second-floor space that includes a loft, fourth bedroom and bathroom which can be reconfigured to accommodate any buyer’s tastes—such as converting the loft into an extra bedroom, or home office as it is being used at the model.

“This home is a single-level floorplan for those who desire a true ranch lifestyle without stairs,” Mistele said. “And for those who want to downsize a little further, the we have other homes available with the same configuration.”

Customers can choose from more than 40 different home designs at Fisher Farm, including other ranches with optional second floors as well as traditional two-story designs, some with a first-floor master bedroom suite. Each Airhart home features two to four bedrooms, two to three-and-a-half baths, built-in stainless steel appliances, a full unfinished basement, two-car attached garage, brick patio or deck, brick and stone exterior (per plan), direct-vent gas fireplace and oak floors. Each residence is fully landscaped with a generous variety of plants and foliage as well as fully sodded yards. Base prices start in the low $300,000s (all prices subject to change without notice). Sizes vary from 1,600 to over 3,000 square feet.

“Amenities aside, there’s nothing like the security a new construction home provides, “ according to Bill Whelan, Airhart Construction’s marketing manager. “A new home has a warranty which removes the question of unforeseen costs related to the life expectancy of the many home components when purchasing a resale home. Also, an energy-efficient Airhart home is built meeting or exceeding Energy Star® guidelines, providing high comfort and lower utility cost.

Every Fisher Farm home is constructed to meet at least the Bronze level of the National Association of Home Builders’ Model Green Home Building Guidelines and includes Pella low-E windows,
Nu-Wool insulation, upscale products, preferred materials, fine finishes and the attention to detail that has helped enhance the builder’s reputation over the last 45 years.

Fisher Farm is a neighborhood that attracts a wide variety of homeowners, from empty nesters to young professionals and singles, said.

“This is a community designed around people on the go who appreciate low-maintenance perks like the lawn care, snow removal, landscaping services, and common area maintenance that are included for a low monthly assessment fee,” Whelan said.

Spanning approximately 23 acres, Fisher Farm is situated on the northeast side of Winfield and bordered by Klein Creek Golf Course to the west, The Great Western Trail to the north and Wheaton Christian Grammar School to the south. The community is designed to maintain as much open space and natural amenities as possible, including a large parcel that will be permanently preserved as open space.

The community features two seating areas along the pond’s east side, a walking/bike bath, a common meeting/park area, and extensive, attractive landscaping throughout the property. Homeowners are less thank 10 minutes drive to downtown Winfield, Glen Ellyn, and Wheaton.

“What’s more, Winfield is a quiet, peaceful village far removed from distractions like traffic congestion and noise,” Whelan said. “Winfield is approximately 30 miles west of Chicago and is accessible from I-355 or I-88. Residents enjoy convenient access to the Union Pacific commuter train station in town, which whisks passengers off to Chicago in approximately 51 minutes.”

Located at 1N578 Golf View Lane in Winfield, The Farmington model is open Saturdays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sundays noon to 5 p.m., or by appointment. To reach the community, take I-355 to North Avenue (Rt. 64); head west to Gary Avenue; head south to St. Charles Road; proceed west to Taylor Drive; enter the subdivision and follow the signs to The Farmington model.
